In the month of July in Lecce, the French Film Festival “Vive le Cinema” proposes five days full of film screenings, shorts and documentaries, meetings and master classes which include some of the most important names on the French audiovisual scene. The Festival was created to consolidate creative ties with Southern Italy and mark the first step towards a “cultural pact” between Puglia and France, which is in the forefront of the European film industry and is third in the world. In the last edition, Festival guests included François Ozon, Vimala Pons, Anais Demoustier, Melanie Thierry, Eric Caravaca, Lolita Chammah, Thierry De Peretti, Laetitia Clement, Philippe Faucon, Alba Rohrwacher, Tahar Ben Jalloun, Frédérique Dumas-Zajdela, Véronique Auger, Jean Brehat.
